Cities endure. People leave. And, if we are fortunate, we change.
Sometimes, becoming the person we are meant to be requires letting go of those who never truly loved us.
Because love is not possession, convenience, or familiarity. Love is wanting, without condition, for another soul to flourish—even if their happiness no longer includes you.
And sometimes, the greatest act of self-love is walking away from those who could never wish that for you.
